With a hardness reaching up to 57-59 HRC, D2 materials offer superior performance compared to D3 due to their higher alloy properties. Applications of Tool Steel - High Carbon Steel HCHCR D2: Tool Steel - High Carbon Steel HCHCR D2 applicable for cold stamping or forming dies, cold forming rolls, Chipper knives, Punches, slitters, shear blades, tools, tyre shredders, trimming, cutting dies , stamping tools etc. It can be utilized as threading rolls and dies, icy trimming, cutting and stamping tools for sheet thicknesses up to 6 mm. Used as shearing blades for sheet thicknesses up to 12 mm.

D3 steel Tool steel with 12% ledeburitic chromium and excellent wear resistance. Essentially used as cutting tools for sheets up to 4 mm thick, trimming dies, blanking dies for paper and plastics, shear cutting edges, and rotational shear edges for sheet thicknesses up to 2 mm. D3 steel is a high carbon 2% and high chromium 12% tool steel with excellent wear resistance. Its supply condition is generally annealed for easy machining, with a suggested hardness of 57-58 HRC once dies and tools are made.
