C45 grade steel is a type of medium carbon steel that provides moderate tensile strengths. This type of steel can be hardened through the process of quenching and tempering, but only on specific sections. This steel has the capability to be hardened through processes like flame or induction hardening to achieve a hardness of Hrc 55. While its machinability is comparable to that of mild steel, its weldability is somewhat compromised. This particular type of steel finds extensive application in numerous general engineering fields.
